Rustic Cedar Frames

I have recently attempted to make some wooden frames for my canvas paintings.

I enjoy using untreated cedar fence boards as they are easy to work with. I cut them in half then measure off the desired lengths for a particular canvas painting. I place one screw at each corner.

I started out making the boards fit together using hardware but found that to be too hard to get the seams to meet. I decided upon a cross hatch pattern and am happy with the results.
